PB4540 jurassic gel

12,000 cps

Super GAP FILLER.  Very high strength clear adhesive.

First use PB002 to strengthen the two pieces you are putting back together.  You must do this step as the PB4540 is thick and will not penetrate into the substrate.  Next, position parts as you plan to join them.  Place the PB4540 on one side or the other of the specimen. Join the broken parts together.  Wipe off any excess that may squeeze out between the bonding joint. When you have joined the parts, SPRAY with activator PB304 or PB303.  You will be able to carefully handle the fossil after the initial set with the activator.  Full cure will take place in 24 hours.

When you have a large gap in your fossil or mineral, PB4540 can be used to fill in those areas.  Once filled, you may then use some “dust” of the original material to fill in the space, using a toothpick to mix it in the repaired area, making your repair almost invisible with practice.

FOR USE IN SALTWATER AQUARIUMS

PB4540 can also be used when embedding live coral in submerged environments (without using the activator). A hole is drilled in the live rock that the coral is to be embedded into.  PB4540 does the job to secure the live coral to the rock substrate, holding it safely in  place.  It's also great for fracking rocks for your aquarium design.

It is available in 20 gm and 200 gm tubes that are squeezed like toothpaste onto your material.

PB750

750 cps

Developed to hold fossil and mineral pieces together.  Slightly flexible. Cures in 10 minutes. Full cure in 24 hours.

A very good product with high or low temperatures. It will change it’s flexibility.

PB100X

100 cps

Developed to bond porous fossil and mineral pieces together.  Cures in seconds. Full cure in 24 hours.

Surface Insensitive (bonds most surfaces to most surfaces!) This is PB100 on steroids!

PB100

100 cps

Developed to bond porous fossil and mineral pieces together.  Cures in 5 minutes. Full cure in 24 hours.

PB100 bonds plastics in addition to fossils and minerals.

An overall capable friend to bond most anything!

PB40

40 cps

PB40 was developed to hold non-porous tight fitting fossils and minerals together.  Cures in 2 minutes. Full cure in 24 hours.

PB40 is used in circumstances where you need very little adhesive to adhere two tightly fitting pieces back together.
When you need to use a limited amount of adhesive to put delicate parts back together, like a trilobite antenna or an ammonite shell piece, PB40 is the perfect adhesive choice.

structural adhesives

Penetrant Stabilizer, PB40, 100, 100X, 750, 1500 and 4540 are the high strength adhesives used when you bond your fossils and minerals back together.  Each adhesive has a different thickness (viscosity/centipoises). The higher the number, the thicker the adhesive.  You need a strong adhesive to make up the difference of error (gap) between the two opposing surfaces you intend to bond together.    You need to make sure to choose the adhesive that will best fill this space.  If the adhesive is too thin, it won’t be able to bond the two surfaces together and the specimen will keep coming apart.  If it’s too thick, the adhesive will take much longer to cure.  The gel adhesive PB4540 was designed to bridge serious gaps where you need serious strength.  The curing time can be shortened by using PaleoBOND Activator.

PaleoBOND should be stored in a cool, dry environment.  We recommend that you store your adhesives in a refrigerator when not in use, enclosed in a jar or baggie to keep out moisture.  Use the overcap to reseal your bottle when not in use. Moisture will cause the adhesive to cure, so be sure to cap to prolong the shelf life of your product.  Most PaleoBOND products will last a year or longer if proper storage guidelines are followed.
